What does it mean to tweet, retweet, use hashtags or send someone a direct message? We will explore the basics of getting started with Twitter. After becoming familiar with the Twitter concepts we will dig into using Twitter on your computer and mobile devices. We will also explore best practices for using Twitter as a communication tool with your staff, parents, students (if over 13 years old) and the community. BYOD: Laptop with browser and wifi capability. Create an account on Twitter, download Tweetdeck and Hootsuite apps.

In this workshop, we will dive into the world of web apps that give students the ability to create, not just consume. We will discover Chrome apps/websites for producing video, mixing and recording audio, and publishing websites, documents, and more. You choose who can view and even edit your site. Please storyboard your pages before coming to this workshop and we will walk through setting up your own website and maintaining it too!
