The art of storytelling completely aligns with written and visual literacy. The iPhone and iPad provide you with a video production studio in your hands and allow your students the creative freedom to tell a story through the medium of video. This hands-on workshop is designed for all attendees to make the connection between written and visual literacy and tap into higher levels of storytelling creativity. We will cover all of the basics: terminology, composition, recording and publication. Bring your iPad / iPhone with the iMovie app to create your own short project! BYOD: iPad or iPhone with the iMovie app installed.

More than ever, teachers are using digital content to create interactive, engaging experiences for their students. This means students can connect to subject matter and demonstrate knowledge in exciting new ways. We will explore a wide variety of digital content, including education apps, interactive iBooks Textbooks and AN amazing repository of free learning resources and courses on iTunes U. Come to the Apple Learning Tour to see how Apple’s mobile devices and content rich ecosystem make learning more relevant and more personal. MacBooks and iPads will be provided.

iBooks Author & iTunes U: Curating & Creating Digital Content
Providing personal access to learning tools opens up a whole new world of possibilities for learning. Besides having access to a large and growing collection of education digital resources, teachers can create and disseminate their own, personalized resources using iBooks Author and iTunes U. Learn how to create your own iBooks authored resource as well as publish your own iTunes U course. MacBooks and iPads will be provided. Attendees are welcome to bring their own devices but must have a Mac laptop with iBooks installed as well as an iPad with iTunes U installed.
